Position Summary
As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally, works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.
The Learning Designer II (“Designer”) is responsible for conducting required analyses and designing training materials for a variety of delivery methods. This includes instructor-led, computer-based, web-based and mobile training in support of the enterprise-wide Resort Operations training needs.
Expected Contributions
The Designer is expected to:
- Use established methodologies in all stages of the instructional design process, including needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Conducting analyses in support of program development.
- Develop curriculum and associated products in multiple formats.
- Design engaging training materials for a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, web-based, and mobile training.
- Develop and package training products using computer-based training (CBT) authoring systems.
- Work with Graphic Artists, Programmers, and Subject Matter Experts in the development of interactive multimedia courseware.
- Research and identify data sources for instructional material development and additional information needed for instructor and participant materials.
- Design interactive training materials that include sound instructional design methodology, appropriate training strategies, and participant activities for small and large groups.
- Develop evaluation tools for the assessment of trainee knowledge and performance.
- Perform work without appreciable direction.
- Resolve problems with training deliverables and services and make any necessary modifications.
- Scale design efforts to meet production timelines and targeted levels of interactivity.
- Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods and techniques. Integrate technologies such as AI and gamification to enhance training programs and drive innovation.
- Collect, monitor and analyze feedback, completion status and participation data to assess program effectiveness and inform on continuous improvements in learning design.
General Department Operations
- Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
- Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.

Candidate Profile
Successful candidates should possess the following knowledge and experience, and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of direct ISD experience, including development of courseware training materials.
- Experience in hospitality, timeshare or sales and marketing industry preferred.
- Functional experience with eLearning authoring software is required, such as Captivate, Storyline, etc.
- Experience using established methodologies in all stages of the instructional design process, including needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
- Experience developing courseware outlines, storyboards, graphic requests, onscreen lessons, instructor guides, trainee guides, test questions, and assessments.
- Experience creating various graphic design elements that support learning efforts.
- Experience in the development of Instructor-led training and various support materials including PowerPoint presentations, job aids, participant materials and instructor scripts.
- Demonstratable experience using the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in emerging development technologies such as gamification, chatbots and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
- Experience with Learning Management Systems administration and reporting
- Experience with video editing and animation software such as Camtasia, Vyond, etc.
